Ringing in the New Year with Jana Downs!

Jana Downs lives in the beautiful mountains of Western North Carolina with three cats, one dog, several dozen fish, and a very understanding partner-in-crime who hates to read but makes exceptions for her stories.

You can usually find her either watching bad reality TV, buying way too many books on Amazon, or dreaming up another man or two to occupy her time because life is good but several drop-dead gorgeous nonexistent men is just better.

Thrice Bitten
sHarmony Shifters 3

Collin hasn't had the same luck with his dates at sHarmony as his friends have and he knows it might be a while before he gets the opportunity to meet the shifter of his dreams. However, a gorgeous man comes walking through the front door in need of a man with his particular professional skills.
Mikey has known Collin was his mate since the first time he met him at his friend Logan's party months ago but despite being introduced three times, Collin hasn't given him the time of day. When he reintroduces himself at Collin's office and commissions his company to design a website for his sport's camp he is relieved that he is finally getting some kind of attention.
Mates are supposed to be made for one another but it seems like Collin and Mikey are night and day. Will they find common ground or will their differences prove to be too great to maintain a relationship?

Blog Post

First of all, happy New Year! I’m so happy to have made it another year in this wonderful industry. My resolution is pretty simple, be more technology savvy so I can connect with all my lovely readers easier. J Have a great 2014!

CODE WORD: Bitten

Excerpt

Mikey nodded before turning around and heading back down the steps. He was lucky he and Desmin had such a good relationship by this point. It hadn’t always been that way. Collin smiled at him from where he sat in the car, and Mikey returned the gesture. Even if they hadn’t been on good terms, Collin was worth whatever hardship resulted.

He climbed back into the car and buckled his seatbelt.

“Everything okay?” Collin asked.

“Oh yeah,” Mikey said. He hadn’t even thought about how their conversation would’ve looked to Collin. “It’s fine. Des just wanted to know who you were.”

“And what did you tell him?”

Mikey leaned over and kissed Collin’s cheek. “That you were my new hot boyfriend,” he whispered.

“Hmm just a boyfriend?” Collin tilted his head to the side to expose his neck. Mikey took the hint and kissed the line of his throat.

“What would you like to be?”

“Lover would be nice,” Collin murmured, shivering.

Mikey pulled back. “I don’t want to rush this.” He cranked the engine and backed out of the drive.

“Oh for God’s sake.” Collin unbuckled his belt as he pulled onto the main street and then reached over to grope Mikey’s hard cock through his pants.

“Christ!” Mikey yelped, swerving as pleasure instantly curled through his balls. “What are you doing?”

“Touching you.”

Mikey groaned. “Why?”

“Because you playing daddy turns me on and because you’re so sweet I can’t resist having a taste.” Collin kneaded him once more through his pants, making his hips swivel, before pulling the stretch material down to reveal the hard dick beneath. Mikey nearly swallowed his tongue as Collin gave him a firm stroke.

“But we’re in public!”

Collin snickered. “No one can see through the tint on your windows. Just don’t drive crazy and get us pulled over.”

Whoever had complained about Collin being a prude had clearly not tripped his buttons before. There was nothing prudish about the way he was stroking his cock, kneading his balls as he played Mikey’s body into an ever-tightening ball knot of nerves.

“Collin,” Mikey murmured, shifting in his seat as Collin leaned further over and hovered over his needy cock. “You don’t have to.”

“I want to. Damn, Mikey, are you blind?” He licked the head of Mikey’s dick, and it took everything in him not to writhe against his talented tongue.

He drove with one hand and used the other to stroke the top of Collin’s blond head, encouraging him to go deeper, to suck harder. He’d promised himself that he would respect Collin’s human limitations, but Collin was pushing his own boundaries without any encouragement from him.

Collin took him deeper, swallowing him down like he was his favorite brand of lollipop. Mine. The inner voice of his animal was hard to deny. He wanted to pull over and take Collin into his arms, fuck him properly, and sink his teeth into his skin to mark him as his own. The instincts were intense, and Mikey was a little overwhelmed by that intensity.

“Collin, suck it harder,” Mikey rumbled, letting his animal bleed into his voice until it was a guttural sound.

Collin groaned around his cock and obeyed, bobbing his head and tightening his lips to provide better suction. The motion nearly made Mikey’s eyes cross. Thank God he didn’t have to get back on the highway. He wasn’t sure he could drive effectively going seventy.

“Getting close,” he murmured as he turned onto the road that would lead them to the fields and Collin’s car.

“Come for me, Mikey. I wanna taste you so bad,” Collin murmured as he came up for air. The words brought him that much closer, and almost from the second that Collin returned to his task, orgasm raced down his spine.

Mikey gasped, coming undone as Collin swallowed down his sticky release. Pleasure momentarily blinded him as he was dragged through the most intense orgasm of his life.

The tires squealed as they pulled into the parking lot too fast, slinging Collin sideways as Mikey overcorrected and slammed on the breakes at the same time. “Jesus!” Collin shouted, laughing.

“Oh my God. I’m sorry,” Mikey said. Collin’s chin and cheek was dripping with cum, and his hair looked mussed from Mikey’s grip on it.

Collin just giggled. “I think I need another shower.” His eyes flicked to Mikey’s sticky cock. “Want to join me this time?”

“Uh, yeah. Sure.” For nothing else but to return the favor of his pleasure. He just hoped the cum stain was going to come off his pants or, at the very least, he ran into none of his neighbors when he pulled in at his house.

“Don’t sound so unhappy about it. Do you have a napkin in here?” Collin asked, opening the glove box. He found Mikey’s stash of fast food napkins before Mikey could answer before he shot him a questioning look at the stack. He wiped up his face. “You and your Nascar NASCAR driving got me a little messy.”

Mikey felt his cheeks burn with blush. “I’m really sorry.”

“Don’t be. If it results in you naked, I’m okay with it.”

He barked out a laugh. “Damn, Collin. You just keep surprising me.”

“Well, I’m glad I get to return the favor every once in a while,” Collin said, smiling softly. “You keep throwing me for a loop.”

“Is that good?”

“That’s very good.”

Behind the Scenes

Ø What inspired you to write your first book?

My very first book was inspired by a dream. It just sort of steamrolled from there.

Ø What made you decide to sit down and actually start something?

It’s a compulsion really. I was always scribbling something and I’m just lucky enough that people actually want to read what I’ve written.

Ø How do you think you’ve evolved creatively?

I don’t know if I’ve evolved as much as matured in my writing. I made a lot of mistakes in the beginning that I think a lot of new authors make but I’ve worked on correcting them.

Ø Do you think that the cover plays an important part in the buying process?

I think that a beautiful cover will certainly make a book more appealing. However, I also think that no amount of beautiful art will make up for a bad book. Final verdict, covers contribute but don’t necessarily sell a novel.

Ø What would you say are the main advantages and disadvantages of self-publishing against being published or the other way around?

The main advantages of self-publishing are two-folds, first that the author gets all of the control of their manuscript and, second, they get a bigger portion of the profits. However, that being said, the negative aspects are also two-fold, because they have the all the control the responsibility falls squarely on the author’s shoulders for all failures. Second, having a publisher gives the author a certain backing and built in reputation along with advertising power. Without those things they might have a harder time getting the work into the hands of readers.

Flash Round

Q. How do you feel, generally, about the opposite sex?
A.Yes? Please? Yum? See, I can be polite about it.

Q. What is your worst habit?
A. Using “that” in my sentences and repeating myself.

Q. Do you have any irrational fears or phobias?
A. Bugs. They’re crawly and gross. They have too many legs and too many eyes and I could go on and on. Yuck.

Q. What are you the most hopeless at?
A. Anything with technology. I can’t seem to master much of anything because it evolves so quickly.

Q. What would you never do, no matter the price?
A. Betray my friends. Once I consider someone a friend I treat them like family and the one thing you don’t mess with is family.
