Tara Rose loves to write about small towns and the quirky people that inhabit them. You’ll find engaging characters, budding romance, intrigue and plenty of hot steamy ménage sex within the pages of her books. You never really know what goes on behind closed doors, but her books will take you there, and leave you panting for more.

When she isn’t writing, Tara spends time with her husband—her real-life hero. She loves to cook, collect antique pottery, and she will read just about anything. Tara also plays the cello, and loves decorating her house for Christmas.

Captured by Two Alphas
The Alpha Legend 1

Leopard shifter Saffron Estampado flees her village to escape an unwanted mating with two brothers who are involved in the same evil society as her uncle, and is captured in the woods by cougar shifters Landon Sterling and Nevada Ruiz when they believe she was sent to kill them.

But the same people chasing her are after rare black cougars like Landon and Nevada, and she works hard to convince them of that. As the men realize they are both in as much danger as Saffron, they also realize they are each falling for her.

Saffron recognizes Landon and Nevada as her mates, but when the brothers to whom she was being forced to mate frame her for her uncle’s murder, her budding romance with both men is put on hold while all three enlist the help of jaguars to fight the threatening evil and clear Saffron’s name.

Guest Post

There are shapeshifters among us, living quietly in secluded, remote villages in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains above towns like Passion Peak, Colorado. You may occasionally see them in town, although you won't recognize their true form unless you're one of them...

Welcome to THE ALPHA LEGEND... an erotic MFM menage series featuring cougar, leopard, and jaguar shifters, consensual BDSM, and an HEA in every book. Book one - CAPTURED BY TWO ALPHAS - continues the story of Nevada Ruiz, whom you met in CHASING FELICITY - Passion Peak, Colorado 4.

Nevada lives a lonely and mysterious life in the foothills above Passion Peak. The residents think of him simply as part of the Ruiz family who sell the Legend of Sleepy Cat Peak merchandise from a permanent tent on Juniper Street in downtown Passion Peak. Nevada's grandfather, Mason, will talk your ear off about the Legend, but what most Passion Peak residents don't know is that there is more to the Alpha Legend than what they read in the Sleepy Cat brochures.

Landon is a line technician for Notus, and he identifies more with the cougar shifters than with the humans he lives among for a very good reason. The cougars saved his life when he was twelve. But if the secret he bears is ever revealed, it's not only his life that will be danger.

Saffron Estampado is a rare black leopard shifter who lives in a remote village of leopard shifters, east of Sleepy Cat Peak. When her grandmother dies, Saffron has no one to protect her from those who are trying to force her to mate in order to keep the bloodline going, so she runs from her home one morning with no clear plan, and is taken prisoner by Landon and Nevada because they don't believe her story. They believe she's in league with the same people hunting them...

Nevada uncuffed her and glanced around. He pulled a large, thick afghan off the back of the sofa and spread it out on the floor in front of the fire, but not too close. “Lie on your back, Saffron, and grasp your ankles.” Then he addressed Landon. “I believe there’s another set of cuffs you brought down. We’ll need them, and you may as well bring the oil and the condoms over here.”

“It’s party time,” said Landon, strolling over to where he’d left the rest of the toys.

Saffron giggled as she lay on her back with her hands behind her head. When Nevada saw her, he gave her a look of incredulity. “Didn’t I tell you to grasp your ankles?”

“Oops. I guess you did.” She reached for them, intending to carry out his orders, but he brought her legs together and grasped both ankles in one strong hand, while he delivered five stinging blows to each ass cheek with an open palm.

Saffron cried out more from surprise than pain. Her pussy was soaked, and surely he could see that. The fact that he’d know how much this excited her increased her arousal all over again.

He let go of her legs and gave her a stern look, but his eyes gave him away. He was enjoying this and wasn’t even close to being angry with her for real. “Now, do what I told you to do.”

She spread her legs and grasped her ankles, and Nevada told her to spread them wider. They placed a cuff around each of her wrists and ankles, and then secured the cuffs together on each side, so she was spread-eagled on the afghan.

“That might get uncomfortable after a few moments,” said Landon, grabbing a sofa cushion. He placed it in the small of her back and then he placed another one under her head. Both men stepped back as if admiring their handiwork, and Saffron was ready to scream with excitement.

“Are you comfortable?” asked Nevada, his grin firmly in place.

She gave him a wicked smile. “I will be as soon as your mouth or your hands on are on me.”

“She’s getting bolder every hour,” he said, glancing at Landon. “I think she needs to be taught a lesson tonight.”

“I agree.” His voice was gruff and thick as he walked out of her line of vision. When he returned, he held the flogger. Saffron moaned in anticipation and tried to squirm, but she didn’t have much wiggle room. This was the most bound she’d ever been in front of them, and she loved it. She loved the feeling of total surrender, and that they were both in control. There was no fear. They wouldn’t hurt her, and she had a safeword to use if she needed it.

As Landon began to lazily brush the tails of the flogger across her pussy and breasts, Nevada moved out of her sight. When he returned, he knelt next to her on the floor and turned on the vibrator. “Now we’ll see how smart your mouth becomes.”

He rubbed it first over the sides of her breasts while Landon’s strikes with the flogger grew more forceful across her pussy. Saffron whimpered and moaned, turning her face to the side and closing her eyes as her climax began to build. When Nevada moved the vibrator to her nipples, alternating it against them, she almost asked him to stop. The sensation was so intense that it felt like tiny electric sparks were zinging from them straight to her clit.

Landon was throwing the flogger in a way now that landed the tails not only on her pussy, but her asshole as well. They stung like crazy, but they also sent such waves of pleasure through her that she floated above the scene once more as she’d done the day before, lost in the haze of pain and pleasure combined. Nothing her imagination had ever conjured up was close to this delicious, wanton joy.

“She is so fucking wet,” said Landon.

Saffron glanced at his crotch and was certain his dick was going to burst right out of his pants. If it did, she’d beg him to let her taste it again, and then she’d beg him to fuck her until she couldn’t breathe anymore.

“She’s so fucking beautiful,” said Nevada. “Saffron, we’re going to do something very special when we’re done playing with these toys.” She glanced into his face and her breath caught in her throat at the look of lust and pure delight in his eyes. They were enjoying this as much as she was. It wasn’t just them doing things to her. They wanted to please her, because it aroused them just as much. That thought struck home in a way it hadn’t done so before, and Saffron had to blink back tears of happiness.

Nevada glanced at the flogger. “My turn. Let’s switch toys.”

Landon made a satisfied noise in the back of his throat as he took the vibrator from Nevada and handed him the flogger. “I know where this is going first.” Saffron cried out as Landon passed the vibrator across her clit, then over her pussy lips, and then finally along her ass crack. He kept that up, never quite letting her orgasm crest, and when he followed that with long, slow strokes of his tongue, Saffron simply closed her eyes and let go.

Nevada slapped the flogger across her nipples, and Saffron barely felt the sharp sting. She was lost in sensations that consumed her, imprinting their eyes, their faces, their scents, and their touch on her heart and soul. She’d stay in this cozy home for the rest of her life and submit to these two. The rest of the world—human or shifter—could scatter to the four winds and she wouldn’t care. She’d hardly know it.

The Inside Scoop

Q. How do you keep your characters and stories organized?

A. I have a Word doc for each series with literally everything in it. Heroes, heroines, who is related to whom, who lives on which streets in the town, history of the town, important elements to the series, running storylines within in the series, characters introduced in each book, etc. Then for each book in that series I have a separate Word doc with character details for the heroine and heroes including their background, and the timeline for that particular book. Yes, I pick actual dates so that I can keep track of what happened when and in which sequence. It helps maintain consistency throughout the series.

Q. Are you a Swooper (write first, edit later,) a Basher (edit each sentence as you go,) or both?

A. I’m both. I write as clean as possible because I almost never turn in a manuscript early, so I don’t have a lot of time to go back and edit. I edit as I go. I will typically re-read 20 to 40 pages at a time, edit them, and then move forward. On those rare occasions when I finish a book the day before my deadline, I will re-read the entire manuscript one more time.

Q. Do you prefer to write 1st or 3rd Person POV? Why?

A. I write in third person and prefer to read third person as well. When I was ten years old I read To Kill A Mockingbird, and I’ve been ruined ever since for anything written in first person. The book is a work of pure genius. The narrator is a six year old girl, yet every adult in the book knows what’s going on, and so does the reader. I’ve tried writing it, and I don’t like what I’ve written, so I’m sticking with third person.

Q. What do you feel are the most important aspects to a good romance?

A. Characters that aren’t predictable or flat. I like to see interesting, real people. I don’t care what they look like or what kind of a car they drive, but I love it when an author tells me their favorite memory and why it’s important to the story, or what they like on their cheeseburgers. Things like that. They don’t all have to have superhero powers or be able to save the world from evil. We fall in love for the little things – the way he smiles, the way she sings his favorite song when he’s feeling blue, or the trinket he bought for her because she told him a story about her childhood and it reminded him of that story. I also look for conflict – believable, real conflict. If there’s no conflict, then why should I read 100, 200, 300 pages or more to see if they’re together at the end? That’s not a story. I want to see them overcome odds – even if those odds are internal.

Q. Are you always in the driver’s seat? Or do your characters drag you along for the ride?

A. I’m never in the driver’s seat. Once I type the opening paragraph, it’s their story and they drag me along because I have the keyboard. No other reason. They don’t need me for anything else. I just take dictation from them and type.

Q. What is your least favorite part of the writing process?

A. Edits. Yeah, I know. But since I write clean to begin with, it’s not a torturous process. I love them because about five minutes after I submit a manuscript, I think of at least ten things I wish I’d put in it, or I realize I’ve messed up something for consistency within the series. Edits give me a chance to clean all that up and polish the manuscript a couple more times.
